Official new goods with full manufacturer warranty – plus your statutory rights. Here is what that means for you in practice.
Your statutory rights
Independently of any manufacturer warranty, the statutory warranty of 24 months from receipt of the goods applies to all units (liability for defects under German law, §§ 434 ff. BGB). These rights are always available to you and are not limited by any additional manufacturer guarantee.
Manufacturer guarantee – additional and voluntary
In addition to your statutory rights, the manufacturers grant a voluntary guarantee under their respective current guarantee terms. The guarantor is the respective manufacturer.
Tohatsu (petrol / 4-stroke)
For private recreational use, Tohatsu grants up to 5 years (60 months) of warranty in Germany under its guarantee terms. Conditions include proper registration, the delivery inspection and on-time servicing by an authorised Tohatsu workshop according to the service plan. Shorter periods apply to commercial use.
ePropulsion (electric)
ePropulsion generally grants 24 months of warranty on motor and battery. For the Spirit range, an extension to up to 5 years is possible after free registration with the manufacturer. The respective current ePropulsion guarantee terms apply.
The exact terms, periods, exclusions and the procedure in a warranty case follow from the manufacturers’ guarantee statements, which are enclosed with the goods or published on the manufacturers’ websites.
How to secure the full warranty period
- Register: register your motor with the manufacturer or importer after purchase. We support you with this and provide the warranty and inspection booklet.
- Inspection & servicing: have the required delivery inspection and the due services carried out on time by an authorised workshop and documented in the warranty booklet.
- Keep your records: keep your invoice, warranty booklet and service records safe.
Official new goods
All motors are official, brand-new goods from authorised supply channels – the basic requirement for the manufacturer warranty. We do not sell grey imports.
