The Tohatsu MFS15E is the powerful top of the licence-free class: 15 hp from a 333 cc twin with battery-free EFI. The new EFI generation is noticeably lighter than the old carburettor models and starts safely without a choke – economical and reliable, even cold.
It shares its engine block with the stronger MFS20 but, in its base form, stays comparatively light at around 43 kg. The multifunction tiller grip with a forward-mounted shift lever and full F-N-R shifting make it easy to drive; a red float ring in the water separator warns of water in the fuel. Depending on your boat you choose between recoil/tiller, electric start, remote control and the power-tilt version. Supplied as standard with a separate 12-litre tank (expandable to 25 L).

15 PS entsprechen 11,03 kW – das ist in Deutschland die obere Grenze der führerscheinfreien Motorisierung, die auf vielen Gewässern gilt. Es gibt regionale Ausnahmen (z. B. Rhein, Bodensee); bitte prüfe die Regeln deines Reviers.

Die batterielose Einspritzung startet sicher ohne Choke, ist sparsam und läuft unabhängig von Höhe und Temperatur. Die neue EFI-Generation ist zudem leichter als die alten Vergasermodelle.
