The Tohatsu MFS 40 A opens the "Light Weight ECO Sporty" line: 866 cc, SOHC with roller rockers, electronic multi-point injection with 16-bit ECU and iridium spark plugs – at around 95 kg one of the lightest 40 hp four-strokes. The new lower unit with its short 2.08:1 ratio delivers noticeably better acceleration.
The ETL version comes with electric start, power trim/tilt and long shaft; steering via remote control (rigging kit) or multifunction tiller. The 21 A alternator is among the strongest in its class. Requires a boating licence in Germany.
